These bracelets are traditional Mossi items of adornment, worn by men or women of this major tribe of Burkina Faso, as an amulet, for protection from any perceived threat, on the advice of a tribal healer. Typically they would contain products deemed to have those properties, or simply Koranic or Bible verses written on paper. Ours, made for less medicinal purposes, are filled with kapok, a natural cotton-like material that comes from pods that grow on trees.
We offer this bracelet with either 2 clasps or a single one, both traditional designs among the Mossi people. This version has simple designs on the dark red color.
